Waste

In Kent households throw away an average of 1.4 tonnes of waste a year. At the Langton we don’t like the idea of being submerged in waste, so we:

  • Put paper recycling bins and paper for reuse trays in every classroom and office, which significantly reduced the amount of waste we generate.

  • Ran a competition to design recycled stationary (pencils, rulers and pencil cases). The winning design was put into production and can be purchased from the library, the uniform shop, Mrs. Bennett, or Mrs. Earley.

  • Old mobile phones and printer ink cartridges are collected in reception.

  • The library has started using recycled paper.

  • Staff are encouraged to keep photocopying to a minimum.
