Welcome to Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys.

We are a school community of over 1000 students and staff set in the Kent countryside on the outskirts of the medieval city of Canterbury. We enjoy a high reputation locally and nationally as a school with an enviable academic record consequent upon inspirational teaching and top quality pastoral care. We also consider ourselves to be in the vanguard of English schools developing a research approach to education that has been recognised as genuinely ground breaking.

Langton Boys Join Squad to Defend National Title

Chris Wyver, Arion Alexopoulos, Olly Neal, Toby Vaughan and Stanley Allen are all members of the Canterbury U16 Hockey Squad who will be travelling to Wolverhampton on 21st January to defend their National Indoor title.

They qualified by winning the South Regional Tournament last month.  The squad will face Cannock, Team Bath Buccaneers, Stockton and Old Loughtonians as they try to reach the finals on Sunday.

Dr Parker Awarded Prestigious Medal

Dr Becky Parker, Head of Physics, has been awarded the first Royal Astronomical Society Patrick Moore Medal.

Named after the veteran presenter of the BBC’s The Sky at Night, it was awarded to Dr Parker in recognition of her work in astronomy education.

RAS President Professor Roger Davies said ‘Becky is a truly outstanding teacher who has directly inspired a large number of young people to pursue careers in science. I am delighted that she is the first recipient of the Patrick Moore Medal, an award she richly deserves for her work in astronomy education over many years’

Dr Parker will be presented with her medal in a ceremony in Manchester in March
